Gaming regulations require that gaming machines at all (non-Indian) Shreveport casinos be programmed to pay back no less than 80% and no more than 99.9%. There are not any table games and, additionally, that casino does not have any video poker games.
That pari-mutuel casino, Harrah’s Louisiana Downs, is situated about 10 miles east of Shreveport in Bossier City.
One of the Shreveport casinos is located at a horse track. All six of them offer electronic gaming machines, as well as an assortment of table games. There are two riverboat casinos in Shreveport and four in Bossier City which is located across the Red River from Shreveport. All Louisiana riverboat casinos must remain dockside and they are not allowed to cruise. In 1991, Louisiana was the fourth state to approve riverboat casinos and its gaming law allows a maximum of 15 riverboat casinos statewide.
